Its been a busy few weeks for our lead Motion Graphics Artist Juliana Ball, Jules has been quite active in the editing suites working on projects and campaigns for some of our biggest commercial partners. We were able to catch up with her and get a brief summary on some of these new promotional videos:
The Merton Group
For the new corporate video for the Merton Group we were tasked with creating a promotional animation about the brand as a supplier of cleaning products and hygiene solutions. We brought this to life with an Isometric style animation, using this technique we were able to design and animate the central Merton Group character, which also features on Merton Group's print work.
Merton was a 6 to 7 day project, this included creating the Merton products, assets and sourcing external assets, designing a Merton Group character, creating a series of characters to insert into the animation and many more. The vault door in the video was created in C4D and inserted into After effects, this allowed us to keep the movements fluid and clear.
Bren, an aspiring VFX Artist temporarily came on board for some work experience. He assisted me creating the Isometric Merton Group products and completing the series of characters in the animation from the one the main Merton character which I created. I’m very pleased with the result as the message is clear and the style is fun to work with. Our client Mike, was really easy to talk to and was open to fun and clever ideas, which made my job more enjoyable. It was an enjoyable and a satisfying project to work on and I'm looking forward to more of the same in the future.
Intelecom was slightly a more complicated project when considering its duration, given that it is an ongoing campaign with 6 separate animations, including getting them translated in Danish, Norwegian and Swedish. Our contact Tina wanted a very clean style that worked with the newly designed Intelecom Website.
Most of the both finished projects were products of my imagination. I was given a script, then I had to think how I was going to conceptually show this in a graphic way. Both clients did have some specifications of what they wanted. For example the animation in the Intelecom video is a mixture of conceptual graphic animation and recorded screen grabs, which the client wanted to add in. With more project down the road, hopefully I'll continue to find new and exciting ways to help graphically express as many brands as possible.
