The 1892 football club, Notts County is globally recognised as being the oldest football league club in the world. With the recent development of Alan Hardy taking ownership of Notts County FC, alongside manager Kevin Nolan, they decided they needed a video created with the help of Affixxius. The video was designed to raise awareness of their season ticket renewals for their fans, both old and new.
Taking viewers on, what can only be described as an emotional journey, the video sets out to showcase the loyalty and solidarity that being a Notts County fan has on people. Why they love to be a season ticket holder, attend every game, share an unspoken bond between fellow fans, and most importantly be there supporting their home team through thick and thin.
Being football fans ourselves we were very excited to be filming at a live game. Senior Producer Billy King explained that they were shown around the premises by the legendary Melvin - who is possibly Notts County’s biggest football fan! The crew were allowed full access to the ground which also included the dressing room, tunnel, onto the pitch and in amongst those loyal fans. Billy also added that the crew got a bit worried when the game started badly with Notts going down to 10 men - but then,(luckily) they scored so they got to film some very happy fans! Phew!
Affixxius managed to get some footage of a Notts County training session where a certain nameless Leeds United supporting member of the production team, became somewhat slightly star-struck by being in the presence of Alan Smith. Finally, to top off what was already an exciting video shoot, the boys also got invited round to Notts’ manager Kevin Nolan’s flat for a cup of tea… Why? To film him having a cup of tea of course!
Not quite to the escaping of the cat down the ventilation shaft in the Axelos video, but there was a rogue Duck lose on the football pitch, which groundsmen had to chase off. Luckily for the Affixxius team, they weren’t in charge of any animals this time!
