“The above film is a trailer for a longer piece, commissioned by Leicestershire Police, as part of “Kayleigh’s Legacy”; a project designed to raise awareness of online grooming and child sexual exploitation in the aftermath of the tragic murder of Kayleigh Haywood last year.
Now that formal court proceedings have concluded, Affixxius Films can announce that we have had the immense privilege of being the production company behind this film. The short trailer above has now been publicly released and the longer, ‘full’ version of the film is being constructively shown to young people across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland in the coming weeks and months. At present, we expect to release the full film to the public in January 2017.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Kayleigh’s family for granting us their complete support and backing during this project - something that, although incredibly noble and selfless, must have been extremely hard to do. The film is difficult to watch, has a brutal but truthful message and, we hope, will ultimately serve the purpose of spreading a message to young people and their families about the huge dangers posed by unsolicited online communication.
It is difficult to be ‘proud’ of a piece such as this and, although its technical and artistic execution is testament to the immense talent of the Affixxius Films team, we hope that it is recognised for its message above all. Please distribute this trailer and visit https://leics.police.uk/categories/kayleighs-love-story to learn more about the campaign to make Kayleigh’s legacy as positive as possible.”
