Once you’ve had your video made you’ll no doubt want to share it everywhere! You’ll be proud in showing off how fantastic your establishment is, and you’ll want to encourage and inspire more to enrol in your school or organisation. Even though here at Affixxius Films we offer a distribution consultancy package, to give you a taster, we’ve decided to guide you with a few simple tips to getting your social media ready for your video launch.
First and foremost is getting your channels in check. In the past we’ve had people wanting to launch a video that’ll boom in online success, but either they’re not active on their social platforms, or they don’t have them at all. As you can imagine, doing a big digital launch without a good foundation is pointless. You can obviously do a video launch through advertisements in cinemas or on TV, but if you want social media success, you need to be constantly active with it.
Make sure you post on a regular basis. If you’re a school, why not post about events coming up? If you’re really unsure, always ask yourself the question, what are my followers getting out of this? For example, sharing a few pictures of the school ski trip might interest parents, obviously in seeing how the children are getting on, or perhaps the latest newsletter from the headmaster? Give your followers a reason to continue in being loyal in following you.
Vary your media
Don’t share generic items, or content that is completely irrelevant. It’s far better to wait and share interesting content, rather than content for contents sake. It is also a good rule of thumb to vary the kinds of media you share, so for example you could share a photo in one post, a video in a different one, then a web link in another. after that.
Do what you can well
There are so many social platforms that it can get a bit stressful trying to manage them all. The best thing to do is look at your audience, and how you want to be perceived in the online world by them. Perhaps look to work on Facebook as your priority because this is the main platform we tend to launch videos on, you also have the option then to add on platforms as you see fit. We also like to put videos on Youtube, and this is because it’s linked to Google so will hopefully get picked up in their search engine.
Don’t expect without work
The one thing that is important to remember is that videos being launched online without the demand or the appropriate initial base to launch on, won’t always do well in terms of views and interaction. However, look at this launch as a positive because it could spring board your digital presence into a success, but ideally you want to have as much visibility as possible before a launch, because like you, we want your video to do the best it can from the get go.
