It is always very exciting when a new brief for a video falls into our laps, it means we can really sink our teeth into giving clients a creative pitch. Not only do we provide something fresh and engaging for companies, we also look at a project from all angles, considering any potential setbacks. Areas would include; if the concept would logistically work, did it fit the initial brief from the client, identifying whether it was realistic to produce, and of course taking into account the bigger picture of the clients marketing and distribution goals. Does it check all the necessary boxes?
A great recent example of this Affixxius process is the video we recently created for surfacing company, Bituchem. This particular client wanted to showcase the products they offer in the best way possible, so of course, our creative team set to work in devising the perfect concept. As you can imagine working with such a niche product, and one that primarily was marketed towards the B2B sector, making this video really stand out was imperative. Of course, we’re Affixxius, we like to do things a bit differently and so it’ll come as no surprise that the concept was too!
We decided to do a shoot which involved hiring a professional street luger, who would ‘luge’ his way down a steep hill in the middle of Wales. The Affixxius production crew then sent a TERO camera rig down after him, which is essentially a camera on a remote control platform. This not only provided an exciting visual because of the luge artist but also gave a beautiful shot of the road surface as he rode along. Due to the concept being so different from what you'd see by similar companies, we provided not only the key messaging of what Bituchem does, but we also added something new and exciting.
However, all things weren’t so easy we’ve been told, as the crew had to stage a fake marathon in Nottingham and film a playground in the snow - nothing like a challenge?! Billy, Affixxius’ Senior Producer explained, “the shoot was lots of fun, but none of us wanted to try Street Luging. Ever.” Apparently, it looked far too complicated for the crew… So we’ll assume we’re striking that from the team building activities then guys?!
